A touring screening programme curated by Helena Blaker and produced by Portland Green Cultural Projects with Netherlands Media Arts Institute. Camera\/Movement <\/em>(50 minutes) explores the relationship between dance film and other visual histories in cinema and experimental film<\/span><\/p>\n

WITH(IN)<\/p>\n

WITH(IN) a feature-length two-part, artists’ film compilation curated and produced by Portland Green, comprises two, curated, short\/artists’ film programmes entitled In, Around & Cornered and Within, Against and Upon. Each programme contains four, short films, that explore, their themes without dialogue, in unique performative ways. The films in the programme entitled In, Around & Cornered consider specific performative negotiations of space, with strange forces at work within each of the films’ built environments. The films in the programme entitled Within, Against and Upon, each expose an emotional journey through a female lead character.’In, Around & Cornered’ films are: Das Gespenst des Gl\u00fccks (The Ghost of Happiness), 2011, Max Philipp Schmid; Blind Questions, 2010, Mouvoir\/Stephanie Thiersch\/58Filme; A Tale Of, 2006, Ravi Deepres and Saburo Teshigawara; Weightless, 2007, Erika Janunger. ‘Within, Against and Upon’ films are: I Dream of Augustine, 2004, Cordelia Beresford; Whole Heart, 2004, Tracie Mitchell; Eurydice… She So Beloved, 2007\/8, The Quay Brothers; Reimerswaal, 2004, Clara Van Gool.<\/span><\/p>\n

This programme’s central focus is the relationship between the video image and performative bodily movement. It features works in the Montevideo Collection from the 1970s to present.<\/span><\/p>\n

FUTURIST LIFE REDUX<\/p>\n

A group of contemporary film and video artists were invited to create<\/p>\n

their own versions of the original segments in Vita Futurista, 1916,<\/p>\n

the only official Futurist film, created by a committee of Futurists,<\/p>\n

which has since disappeared. <\/span><\/p>\n
